Stucco screed vs pavers elevation
I’m removing and replacing the concrete pavers, removing the roots and then restoring the pavers to 1” inch lower that picture. Can I stick a piece of sheet metal under the weepscreed and save all the stucco as lath removal and replacement ? Suggestions?

What are you asking?
The pavers were installed toohigh and “lock” any moisture into the stucco wall. The “weep screed” needs to breath. In this picture the weep screed is buried and beginning to rust. i need to remove all the pavers because tree roots are starting to lift them. I’ll slope and keep the paver elevation a minimum 1”inch below the stucco screed. Is that enough? I’m trying to avoid having to remove all the stucco weep screed, lath and stucco and replace with new. (The lower 12” inches ). What do you think? Or can I leave the situation as depicted? Thanks
Lowering the pavers 1" should be fine. Do not remove the weep screed. It is part of the drainage system and trying to remove it is not advisable. I'd install a perimeter drain under the screed and against the house if you can. Otherwise put gravel and filter fabric against the wall. You can use fog coat to match your stucco to color the foundation where it shows.
