I can get a deal on the two StudSteps I want for Christmas, but I have to by a case or two – company is out of business, and just wants to get rid of the last two cases, and I’d have to drive to Rome to get them.
Not worth it unless I can sell a few and recoup. They look darned handy, got good reviews when the came out.
Anyone? $12 apiece (list is $20); $20 the pair + shipping.

Those look handy but most likely would end up in the box of tools that never get used.
I've experimented with several ideas similar to those in different applications. Ultimately, on a rough site, we tend to simply nail blocks to the walls to get footholds.

Yup....exactly what I was thinking.
Can't imagine taking the time to send someone out to dig through the truck to try and find those things. Not when there's a pile of scrap 2Xs sittin' 10 feet away.

Aw come on! It's a tool! It's on sale! What's not to like!
'Course that's probably why they didn't sell.

I have one that is pretty much unused. It's yours for ten bucks. Now all you have to do is find another person with one.
Its one of those items that are incredibly handy, when they are handy but basically useless most of the time.I'll bid nothing for it if you pay the freight LOL. Send your bammer along too. Bob's next test date: 12/10/07

My mother once said to me, "Elwood" -- she always called me Elwood -- "Elwood, in this world you must be oh so smart or oh so pleasant." For years I tried smart. I recommend pleasant.

HAHAHA!
I appreciate the offer, but I think you're fighting an uphill battle here. Those would be great.... as long as they were always about 2' away from me. I can't ever imagine a scenario where I would make a special trip down to the truck for them and they seem like something you won't know you're going to use until you're about 10 seconds away from needing them. Sorry bro.
I'd take a couple few.... I have two and they do come in handy
Guess I'm the only one... ah well ;)

Hey, I'll bet Stan Foster could make use of them, being as he has to wrap the spiral stringer up them temp wall studs. Probly uses a step ladder to clamp them off.
Try emailing him directly, he don't check in a lot.Spheramid Enterprises Architectural Woodworks

Forrest,
If you can't generate enough interest, let me know. I've got a set I'll GIVE you.
Merry Christmas.
Actually, those might work good for climbing in the truss webs. Putting in web lacing and such. Or stepping up to unhook the choker when we fly in the gable with a crane...
I'll have to think about this some more...
Thats how I envisioned using them. I know from other experiments that the angled struts that we usually perch from would cause problems. Bob's next test date: 12/10/07
yeah, I'd need a pair of those. At 5'1/2" I can't get very high up. :)
your still growing......... :)Live by the sword, die by the sword....choose your sword wisely.
Over a decade late to the party but anyone still have a set floating around?
