Hi all,
Its been years since I have posted, busy lol. I have always loved how a little of this could get the ideas flowing.
A long time ago there was a ad about a stud step you could put in your belt.
I’ve been doing a lot of pole barns as of late and today I got a thought of perhaps a post jack larger version of said step.
Thoughts?
Thanks
Blacky

I think I remember what you're talking about - It clamped on a 2x stud in a wall, and provided a temporary step.
Don't remember who sold it or anything else about it.

I had to look it up-it didn't ring a bell..............
Googled Studstep and saw a remodeling or builder article on simple cheap very usable tools. It provided a link in the explanation for studstep.com-which turned into nothing. The article was from maybe 2004.
So maybe the company is kaput.
But you are right-a temp step jig that afforded the ability to plank across. Needed to be wrapped around the framing (so no sheeting in that spot) but could temporarily "work" with just fasteners applied to the framing I think.
Dieselpig had used them if memory makes a brief appearance.
