   we always shoot the plywood down, you could use a large roll of platon, then shoot the ply down on top, accomplishes the same thing, but faster, less $, rigid subfloor, less joints ...

   Hardwood Flooring (ABOVE GRADE only) Acclimatize both the finished floor and DRIcore panels simultaneously to equalize the moisture contents of both products to the temperature and humidity of the room where the flooring materials will be installed.

   • Only remove the 1/4” wall spacers until after the wood flooring has been installed.
   • Fasten every 4th DRIcore panel, every other row, to the concrete floor with Tapcon type cement fasteners to anchor DRIcore panels to the concrete floor. Dab silicone sealer into the pre-drilled fastener openings.
   • Attach 4' x 4' x ¼” underlayment plywood with 5/8” fasteners to the surface of DRIcore panels prior to installing the hardwood floor. Do not use lauan plywood as an underlayment.
   • Install building paper, wax paper or another similar layer of friction or noise reducing material between the underlayment and finished floor as normally performed.
   • The National Wood Flooring Association defines below grade as any part of a concrete floor that is 4” or more below the soil level. If your slab is 4" or more below grade, install an engineered wood floor instead of a solid hardwood floor.
   • Do not glue hardwood floors directly to DRIcore panels.
   • Use approved fasteners that do not puncture the underside of DRIcore panels. 1-½” barbed flooring cleats are recommended.
   • Contact the finished wood flooring manufacturer for their warranty and installation instructions.
   • DRIcore panels may be required to acclimatize for longer periods depending on the humidity and temperature of the room where the installation is to take place. The recommended humidity and temperature to be maintained for a below grade installation is 30-50% relative humidity and 21°C (70°F).
   • Allow panels to stand for at least 48 hours by stacking or laying them out on the floor with the plastic cleated surface down.

   During seasonal periods of high humidity conditions such as June, July or August, it is recommended to acclimatize DRIcore panels simultaneously with the finished wood flooring to be installed for about 2 weeks to allow for the balancing of the moisture contents of both products. Check with the finished wood flooring manufacturer for their recommended temperature and humidity guidelines.
