   Against the advice of the framer I subbed my addition to, I spec'd Advantech for about $250 more than 3/4" ply.  I was sure that we'd end up with some rain/snow/ice on the bare subfloor.  Sure 'nuff, rained off and on during framing and trusses, and melted snow/ice through the un-papered but tarped roof sheathing.  At one point I drilled a few holes so I they wouldn't be wading.

   And I've seen perfectly good ply or OSB soften up and de-lam after only a brief wetting.

   Now it's dried in and the Advantech looks like it was dry the whole time.  Good stuff.

   As I stare out my window at the first and second floor subfloor and framing and all the snow that sat on it the past week it amazes me how it stands up to the weather..Right now its pouring. thank god the snows gone at least.

   I purposely let a small piece of Advantech sit in a puddle for a cpl of weeks...no swelling at all.... WOW!

   Advantech sure has me sold.....cept for the shrapnel from my saw in my face.

   Add PL Premium and I'm convinced it'll last longer than the chimmney.

   I'm kicking myself for not using the Advantech. We put a quick coat of water seal on the floor after it was laid but with the snow and ice the ply is showing delam. Its minimal right now, but it still drives me nuts.
