I have a Ranch that was built in 1956. I have the original plans and it specified 1×8’s for the subfloor, covered with felt paper, 1×2 sleepers then 5/8 plywood on the sleepers. What would be the reason for this? Wouldn’t the 1×8’s have been ok for the subfloor alone?
