I have a basement with parged stone walls and have framed out an area and hung a door for an outside entrance. I would like to put up metal lath and plaster the walls to have the same appearance/strength as the rest of the basement walls. The existing material looks like a sand/cement mix that was hand floated including the ceiling and framed walls. Could I apply something like that over metal lath? If so, could I use a premix sand mix concrete or should I buy sand/cement and mix myself? Would I be better off using stucco?
