I’m installing a sump pit liner and I recently was told that, outside of the holes on the side for my 4″ drain pipe, I also need to drill holes in the bottom of the liner. It does and does not make sense, given that if the water table rises, you want water to be able to enter the pit and then pumped out. Any thoughts? Thanks

if you cut holes in the bottom you are going to dewater the entire area... your pump will run all the time..
use the inlets at the top, don't puncture the bottom..the invert of the inlets are usually about 6" below the surface of your slab... so the water will stay where you want it to be... below the slab...
BTW.. the sumps they sell at HD are just about the right size..
