I’m installing a sump pump in my basement. I need a pit for it. Any suggestions? Are the pre-fab ones any good for rehab jobs? They all look like you have to plan out drain lines coming into them. I thought about a piece of 16″ HDPE, pour a bottom in it with Quickcrete then drill it full of holes and wrap in filter fabric.

Go down to your local full service lumber yard and buy the black plastic sump pit with a lid. It is done, no mixing etc. The kind I use have cut outs ready for 4 inch pipe on two sides. If that doesn't suit you, use a4 1/4 hole saw and cut holes wher you need them. Hardest part of the instal is digging a 3 foot hole!
Have a good day
