I was looking at replacing the float switch on my sump pump (the “switch-on” level keeps creeping higher and higher and now includes above the lid, very much bad) and came across the SumpWatcher electric sensor type of replacement for the standard float switch. Anyone ever use one of these things? With good luck or bad?

Forget the primal scream, just ROAR!!!
I dont think so, but it will be investigated. What is there is the "bell" type, hard mounted to the pump, with a rubber diaphragm inside the bell that compresses as the water pressure increases. Seems kinda foolproof and would last a long time. This has been installed about a year.
mine has a float with mercury switch in it.....when it hangs down in low water, no contact....floats up, makes contact....pretty idiot proof, but perhaps because it has mercury it's no longer made.....
