A recent article in Fine Homebuilding mentions “smoke pencils” but no supplier. These items are used to make a puff of smoke which is used to track down air leaks in a home.
I would like to purchase one of these pencils and try to plug as many leaks as I can to reduce my heating bill.
Can anyone point me to a suppler of these things?

Profewssional Equipment (www.professionalequipment.com) has both smoke matches and "powder puffer".
Thanks for the lead. I looked at the item on their web site and found that the "puffer" puffs a cloud of silica powder. Could that silica be a health hazard?
I wonder how using the "puffer" compares to using an actual "smoke pencil". From the descriptions I have viewed for "smoke pencils" they are of two types: a continuously burning stick and something that looks like a squeeze bulb similar in action to the "powder puffer".
I really don't know.
You can get those at a well equiped Heating/AC supply house. Standard test eqipment. Around here Johnstone stocks them.
