Hi everyone!
One of the corner posts, as well as the outside joist and rim joist the post is sitting on are rotted and need to be replaced. I am looking for suggestions on how to best support the roof while I replace these items.
The porch is 12×9.
These are my two thoughts for options… The first is to run doubled up 2x12s across the inside of the porch, through the windows on either end, supported on either end by 2x6s (fasten as Ts).
The other option is to just brace each corner by running a 4×6 across the corners at a 45 and again supporting them with 2x6s outside of the porch.
In both cases I would also use some 2x6s cut with birdmouths to push on the front facia.
Do either of these sound like a good/safe plan? Below are some images to helps show the situation. Thanks in advance!

Either way sounds fine, but I'd add that you should support the soffit, not the fascia.
I use this method often. Bump it up with a sledge hammer and secure with a few screws.
