Supprtng deck/porch on stone venr posts
Hey there,
I’m interested in feedback on the best way to support a deck on porch post footings consisting in part of stone veneer. The deck will be standard framing topped off by a shed roof above. We’re using pine posts (cut from our woods) sitting on short stone facade posts which in turn sit on a poured footing. My question lies in the structure of the stone posts. The field stone facade will begin at grade and continue up through the deck, for about a foot above deck surface,to be topped by a granite slab and then the posts. (Kind of “camp style”). We’re planning on pouring a concrete footing followed possibly by concrete block w/mason’s tabs for stone work. Any suggestions for supporting the deck framing?

Perhaps you could form a ledge on the back side of the masonry piers for a deck beam (PT) to sit on.
