I have an ‘exterior’ door that opens outward into an attached garage. The door is metal and originally had a bottom sweep. The flooring was redone incorrectly and the bottom sweep doesn’t seal correctly. I’ve been using a door draft stopper but would like a more permanent solution. I have seen Automatic Door Sweeps on-line and the Surface Mount style seems like the way to go. The sweep will be mounted to the house side of the door and will engage when the door is closed.
Would appreciate some manufacturer recommendations. Thank You.

Jim,
My experience with door hardware is mainly with commercial. National Guard and Pemko would be where I’d look.
Hi Calvin,
Thank You for responding. Hope all is well with you.
The different manufacturers have a confusing number of options. One supplier recommended the Pemko 4131CPKL. PKL is the Pemko seal. C is the product color.
Any thoughts?
Thank you, again.
Been out of the game for a while but if I needed something I wasn’t specifically sure of, I’d head over to one of my regular suppliers and ask for advice.
If you could post a picture of what you have with the door and one of the options you’re thinking of, I’d give it a shot of what I might choose. As you have probably seen already, the options go from a little to a lot $.
Would there be a throw rug there as well?
Another option might be changing out the threshold and using a regular flexible sweep that would close upon that thresh.
The flooring inside the house is sheet vinyl.....no rugs involved. The house flooring ends under the door. The edge of the flooring and the outside of the door align with the surface of the garage wall. You step down into the garage. The edge of the flooring originally had a metal noising that covered the edge of the flooring and wrapped over the garage wall surface. The flooring was redone several years ago and the vinyl didn't extend far enough under the door due to a measuring error. The metal nosing wasn't long enough to extend under the door and cover the edge of the vinyl. The installer 'mickey moused' the metal nosing and it wound up tearing up the bottom mounted door sweep. I replaced the door sweep but it doesn't seal well due to the funky metal nosing. Also, the bottom of the door has channels to capture the door sweep. I can't find the 'correct' door sweeps, anyway. SO, when I saw the Automatic Surface Mounted Door Sweeps I figured this would take care of my problem. Just trying to find a reputable manufacturer's product. In addition to the ones you mentioned I've seen some others on-line.....just don't which one to get. Can't find many reviews. At this point I may be over-thinking this.
Thank You for bearing with me.
