I’m trying to get an idea of regional differences in surveying costs. I’m interested in knowing what you usually pay for a survey of a vacant lot prior to building. Staking out the boundaries, foundation location, septic, etc…
Is it mandatory to hire a surveyor in your area or can you do it yourself?
Here in New England we use the old “meets and bounds” method which is why I usually pay a surveyor anywhere from $500 to $2000.
