At the JLC Live show in Providence this year I heard (or I thought I heard) that Sherwin Williams came out with a paint specifically for cellular PVC trim i.e. AZEK, KOMA, etc.
When I called the local SW store they never heard of it, and said any 100% acrylic paint should work fine (but of course Sherwin Williams’ 100% acrylic paint will work best).
Was I dreaming at the JLC show, or did anyone else hear that? I think I heard it from an AZEK rep behind the booth.

it is the other way around. There is a specific SW paint that Azek recommends using, but it was not developed just for Azec.
Check with the Azek people instead of the SW folks.
I used to know, but forget.

What SW has is a set of colors that allows you to paint vinyl dark colors with either SuperPaint or Duration. They call it VinylSafe(TM).I haven't used them myself. I painted my Azek white with SW SuperPaint three years ago. So far it looks great, the same as the day I painted it.Here's Azek's tech bulletin on painting:http://www.azek.com/pdfs/AZEK_Paint_Tech_Bulletin.pdfHere's a press blurb from SW on VinylSafe:http://www.sherwin.com/press/trade/2006%20Releases/20060329_vinylsafecolors.jspI'm pretty sure I've seen a brochure on it in the store while I was milling around waiting for them to tint some paint.
