Riddle me this:
I used to have a loose association with a few guys in the area that would call on one another when we got a job that was too large for one guy to effectively handle alone. In this way none of us were dependent on someone else to find work for us, and we all continued to have the flexibility that comes with self employment.
I’ve moved. (Damn.)
The guys I used to work with were friends through school, friends of friends, etc. All people that I had some connection with. And at the time (while I was still in school) the need for a network of people wasn’t as pressing as it is now.
I would like to place a sort of “Help Wanted . . .Sometimes” add, but I’m wondering if this is the type of add anyone I might be interested in working with would respond to. I prefer to work with people I like and dislike the impersonal, sometimes adversarial relationship that can arise when using a hired gun.
I should add that I only work a four day week thus complicating matters further. (I’m not lazy, I watch my son on that fifth day.)
Thoughts?
