Back around 1994 a floor refinishing company applied Synteko to the floor of my residence. The stuff was lethal while curing (mixture of alcohol, formaldehyde, ether, I think?) but it cured quickly and allowed two coats in a day’s work.
I loved the results. The finish was scratch resistant and gave the floor a beautiful lustre. Now I have a new refinishing project, and I would like my contractor, rubber suit and all, to use it again. Unfortunately, the contractors I have talked to don’t use it.
Is it still available? I have heard the EPA is trying to rein in high VOC products, and man, Synteko probably was high on their list of villains.
