I was asking about using a deck as a carport underneath. Any body use this stuff? http://www.lockdry.com

Prescriptive codes don't address the connection at less common angles, so base the connection off more typical ones using bolts, structural screws, blocking, and steel tension ties.

*I have a co-worker that wants to build a deck on the top of his flat-roof garage. I am sending him the link.I don't really know about the lightening concern being a valid one. I suppose surrounding topography and region would need to be taken into consideration.I don't know if I would like the sound of walking on aluminum decking. Also, I am in Wisconsin. I wonder what it would be like in the winter. Would ice accumulate, would shoveling hurt it, would salting damage it? I will ask these questions of the mfg if my friend is interested.
*It looks interesting. I called and got a price of $1260 for material for my 6' x 30' deck.-- J.S.
