Greetings to all,
I’m looking to get info on direct vent, gas fired, tankless, hot water heaters. The one that I have is more than 15 years old and I begining to feel that I’ll be needing to replace it soon, worse case.
My questions are if I stay with the same type of boiler for both heat and hot water what brands are most reliable and efficent?
Should I go with a seperate unit for HW and heat if it allows for better effiecentcy and is easier to sevice?
The make that I have now is TrianCo Heatmaker Mark II (HW-M2 130N). It is a low voltage unit and it seems that there are fewer technicians trained to repair these items.
Thanks in advance and happy new year, Kaiser

One approach
is to find the installer you want to use, and get their recs on which appliance(s) to install. If they are going to provide service and warranty on it, they ought to like it. There are numerous brands that will do a good job for you.
tankless hot water heater
check AO Smith new Hybrid unit
Keep in mind that tankless was greatly oversold. Generally they are not more efficient.
