I plan to install poly plastic sheeting in a crawlspace that is below grade. There are a dozen places on the web that say to “tape the seams” but none that say what tape to use. Called the manufacturer and he didn’t have any suggestions either. Does anyone know the answer. Thanks.

Tuck tape.
*As far as I know, vapor barriers don't need to be taped, only infiltration(air barriers). Just overlap the seams. But if this doesn't fly with you, to answer your question, a lot of guys use housewrap tape which you can buy at Home Depot or Menards in the insulation department. Good luck.
*Dear Rob,Regular poly doesn't tape together well at all. The last time I used it, we laid a fat bead of butyl caulk between the laps. Now I use Tu-Tuf (see efi.org) for ground cover. It seals very well with Tyvek tape and others like it.Regards, Fred
*I use that red Tyvek tape also , and butyl "Black Death" caulk at every seam.Dave
*Hi,Expanding polyurethane foam from a can, such as "Great Stuff", works well to seal the sheets together at overlaps and to anchor the barrier to the walls of the foundation above the footings.ONE TEAM - ONE FIGHT!!!Mike O'HandleyBungalow Rescue, Seattle
