Thanks,
dlb

What makes you think there is a relationship?
Excellence is its own reward!
It was me.....I saw them making out behind the magazine racks.
See this quarters issue of "The Wood Post" .
So, you're not gonna tell me? make me hunt all over the house for that issue? play coy with me?
This relationship is going nowheres fast, between you and I. It takes open communication to have two people grow closer together.
;).

published by lowes quarterly - general info on woodworking
now you're gonna fiddle with the riddle.
What is published by Lowes Quarterly?
I'm on the edge of my seat. Can't sleep. Beat the heat, Going to eat. .

Im thinking taunton plays the guy

I assume you're not talking about something to hang a fence panel on, so what is "The Wood Post" you're referring to?If everything seems to be going well, you've obviously overlooked something.
>>I assume you're not talking about something to hang a fence panel on, so what is "The Wood Post" you're referring to?<<
I'm not sure either, but I'm sensing a conspiracy involving blue helicopters and hidden subliminal messages in Tanton articles. And if you play the "Best of FH" cd backwards....

...this is funny...Ditch
I know where the answer to the riddle is.

the point, man! the point! get to the damm POINT! we are not all wasting our time surfing here to indulge in some socratic dialogue or some other silly mind game- we generally seek only relatively mindless entertainment and harmless diversion. and if it doesn't unduly interfere with the aforementioned, a little education and enlightenment on occasion too. so without too much further ado, could you trouble yourself to clue the rest of us in on the conspiracy to which you have previously alluded?

lowes owns taunton according to the magazine
ooooookay- i've been thru the latest issue fairly thoroughly in the last couple days and i must have missed that reference. would you mind being just a skosh more specific as to page number, etc?
to further confuse me (as if i needed the help)- the stud comparison on pg. 116 was done @ HD.
keep us posted.

mia culpa - see page 2 of fall 2003 the woodpost
"lowes owns taunton according to the magazine"
First of all if you KNOW this why did you ask the question in the first place.
But also the question now, is WHAT MAGAZINE are you talking about.
Taunton publishes 6 magazines and I have not gotten the latest FHB so I don't know what is in that.
But I do have Lowe's "the Woodpost".
Now unless your copy came with a secrete decorder ring that mine does nto have THERE IS NO PLACE IN IT THAT SAYS LOWE'S OWNS TAUNTON OR VS VERSIA!
It does appear that they have a cooperative market agreement. Taunton supplied some editoral content and FHB and FWW are mentioned along with a Taunton book on finishing.
Given all the "Hard" evidence spewed by both sides in the political debates here, that is enough to cinch it for most people!Mr T

Is it impossible for you to post more than one sentence at a time?
Get to the point already. What are you trying to say? Three posts thus far and all you`ve said is "the magazine" claims Lowes owns Taunton....and nobody here has any idea of what you`re talking about.

Lowes does not own Taunton. They, like Home Depot, Barnes & Noble, WalMart, Borders, Walden Books, etc., sell our magazines and books. Andy Engel, The Former Accidental Moderator
I say it can't be true because Lowe's BlowsWhere there's A wheel there's a way, got any wheels?
Andy,
I know you are the Executive Editor of one of Taunton's major publications, but a guy named dale has posted on the internet that he saw it in some magazine...
You expect me to take your word over evidence like that?!?!?
Geez.

Another day, another tool.
Rich, I found out yesterday that we do have a partnership going with Lowes where we supply some of the tips that go in their newsletter. Andy Engel, The Former Accidental Moderator
Do you also get to drive their NASCAR car?
No, but if they sponsored a bicycle racing team, I'd want a chance to ride one of the bikes.Andy Engel, The Former Accidental Moderator
When I owned my software company, a wayward employee tried to get us to sponsor a pro bicycle-racing team. He figured it would cost about 25% of our annual revenue and thought that was a reasonable investment. I like bike racing, but decided he wasn't a reasonable investment.
What kind of software did you develop?
Organizational and planning software for Macs
aaaaaaaaahey the rule is if you read it on the internet it has to be true.Who Dares Wins.
I not happy with Lowes and Taunton due to it will be another four weeks before the new issue hit rack, That where I get my FHB. And I cannot afford to subscribe, I got to hide the mag price from "the one who must be obeyed" she never let me subscribe outright.

he should get a post office box like the rest of us to have the mag sent to.bobl Volo Non Voleo
I tried that once, She found out about it...... Woof!
You know, the more I read here the more I learn.
About all the reasons not to get married...
My wife usually scarfs FH before I can read it all.
Hides it or takes possesion?
Who ever invented work didn't know how to fish....
Sorry for the ambiguity. Takes posession of it. And then comes up with a bunch of ideas. Which was great when we were planning the house, but now that it is finished,........
guess that means you won't be getting the new mag, inspired housebobl Volo, non valeo
Neither one of them has featured Structural Insulated Panels yet.

I remembered an article in the past, and searched for it...
http://www.taunton.com/cgi-bin/artresult-fh.cgi?heading=Structural+insulated+panels+(SIPS)
Wow, imagine that! I have both of those issues and missed both articles. I was surprised at how many features the featured house in issue #147 shares with my own design. Thanks for hooking me up with that one.
I would still like to see an article or two strickly devoted to SIPs but I'm glad to know Taunton has one less thing in common with Lowes than I suspected.Kevin Halliburton

>with Lowes
I'm now more worried about Lowes and the national weather service. CNN had a reporter on the beach in NC stop a "storm-tracking" truck to ask about the location of the storm, and the truck was plastered with Lowe's decals just like NASCAR cars! What's the connection?!?!? Maybe they're identifying houses falling down and doing a material's list!
Perhaps my phenominal grasp of the obvious is at play here but, Taunton publishes magazines directed at the many aspects of homeownership/homebuilding feilds and Lowes supplies many materials and tools to homeowners/homebuilders?
Am I right? Can I have my cookie now?

So that's why Taunton uses more blue ink than orange.
