I had heard that there were tax incentives for upgrading your boiler/furnace etc. Does anyone know anything about this. I am buying a new home with an ancient boiler and was hoping for a little help with the upgrade. Thanks in advance for any advice.

Check your utility for incentives, too.
Check both the state and the Federal gov'ts for potential tax breaks. States often have different laws/incentives.
