Tax ? on married filing seperate

I’ve always filed jointly but this year I wanted to see if I gained anything by filing separately.

 My question is concerning the kids. Can we both claim them as dependants or can only one of us claim them?

    You can split the children up. But a given child can only be claimed by one person.
