Decided to bite the bullet and just signed on to frame three 5000 sq ft homes in Framingham, MA. Need to pick up a couple more guys now that I’ll be taking on larger projects.
What I’m looking for is a guy (or gal) with a few years experience framing. You don’t have to know how to cut roofs or stairs, just be able to knock together what I lay out for you. Looking for someone with a little initiative…..tell the labor to pick up a broom if they’re standing around, pick up a broom yourself if need be. All you need is a set of bags, a little know-how and a good attitude.
Good attitude is the most important thing I’m looking for. Dealt with plenty of A-holes in my past along with their baggage, whatever it may be.
Show up Monday-Friday and if you wanna work Saturday….I’ll be there.
Be onsite ready to go for 7am
Be prepared to stay until at least 4:00.
Have a means of transportation.
I’ve got good tools, a lull onsite, and I’m a fair, honest, no BS employer. Looking for the same from an employee.
We’ll discuss wages based on experience and performance. On the books, no 1099 crap, and yes I carry worker’s comp.
Sign up, show up and let’s go make some money.

Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming.... WOW!!! What a Ride!
Great advertisement!!! Does this mean you ain't coming to Maine????

Not moving anywhere for a while now. Wife and I couldn't decided what to do.....so we decided to do nothing! Gonna put a little more into our own house and see if the roots take.
Gotta stay busy in the mean time.

I just recently started browsing this forum...
When where you looking to start these homes?
I live in St. Louis now, having just moved here from Evergreen, CO where I was a framer and a form carpenter for upper-end custom homes. I've been doing remodel work since I've been in St. Louis.
My girlfriend and I moved to St. Louis because she was going to be attending graduate school here, but now will be attending graduate school in Florida, a state in which I will never reside. So I am now free to move anywhere.
I'd be interested to hear when you need someone. If our schedules could work out, I can e-mail you my resume if you're interested.
Bluemoose, my son Tom is in Naples, FL - looking for another Project Manager for his remodeling Co. He specializes in remodeling high end, high rise condos on the Gulf of Mexico.
By an chance, will your girl friend be going to the new South Western Univ. in Ft Myers about 30 miles North of us?
Hey moose,
Foundations are going in as we speak. First lumber drop will be in 4-6 weeks.
Send me an email and tell me a little about yourself and think about how serious you might be about this.
Look forward to hearing from you,

btw, I'm in Boston over the 4th...
Now your talking CAG! There'll always be a spot here for you bro.
Regardless, let's talk as the 4th comes closer. Let me take you to a Sox game or something. Beantown's alright in the summer.

Lil' bump......
any takers?
I don't bite....
just growl some :)
SO I guess the lull is really over huh? I would like to do it for a week or two. That would give us enough stories to last awhile.Who Dares Wins.

Screw it, right? Jumping in with both feet to do what I know best....framing. The work is there, so I'm gonna put together as serious a crew as I can find.
A guy who worked for me last fall married into some money. He's the one building the three 5000sqft 'ers. The money is certainly there. It's a good start and will get me through for awhile and buy me some time to weed through upcoming projects and get to pick the ones I'd really like to do.
Something about the summer.....calls me back to framing. Come December or January I'll be ready to head inside and give the GC/Remodeling another go. But for now....the weather's warming up, the work looks steady, and I'm ready to go tanning!
That's the plan anyway.....
Wanna make God laugh? Tell him what your plans are.
I'm goin' for it... just need some trusty mates to join me in this endeavor. I've got a decent carp and one good laborer whose been around the block a few times with this stuff. Also hired a college kid home on break.....cuz you gotta have one of those around to keep things interesting, right? Would love to pick up one more decent guy with his sh1t relatively together. Sounds like you might have yer stuff a little too together for the riff raff I'm assembling!
