Temporary roof jack/ support

Hello all,
This is my first post here, but I really like the website.
House – Two story house with a 10′ x 28′ porch on the front, and a POORLY constructed waterproofed porch directly above the first floor and a gable roof over the 2nd floor porch. The 2nd floor porch is framed incorrectly, and poor work has caused the structure to rot and it has to be replaced.
Problem- We have to support the 10′ x 28′ gable roof, demo the 1st and 2nd floor porch columns and 2nd floor porch. I need some ideas for supporing the roof during demo. The supports need to have some sort or jacking ability to raise and lower the roof down once the new structure is in place.
I have heard of engineered systems you can rent, but I am open to ideas.
Thank you,
I will be sure to try and take some pictures and post on here. It’s hard to believe that this past an inspection, especially in a 140MPH windzone…..

Update.
A local scaffolding company is coming out to look at the house. We will most likely support the roof with aluminum I beams sitting of a modified post shore.

I would love to see some pictures of this, and then subsequent bracing with the scaffolding.
I did a three story porch rebuild with an existing roof, and was scared as hell for a whole week.

I've done this a couple times in different ways.
On one, we set wood pump jack posts with pumps to lift and hold the upper roof about 6' OC and had pump jacks on the same poles at the lower level too. Lots of diag bracing and such. chunks of 2x12 on ground under the poles. and since this was a winter job, the whole thing was wrapped in tough plastic skin.
Had the poles tilted in to the roof at top about 3-4° to keep the feet out of the way of excavation for footings.
On another one, we set 22' long 2x8s at angle with another T-nailed to it to prevent bowing, at about 4' OC. No jacking capacity needed on that really - just to hold. Then after the intermediate deck was done, we used hydraulic jacks to adjust heights as we placed the columns.

Piffin,
I like the idea of supporting the roof, without any jacking capabilities. tearing out the 2nd floor framing and all columns. rebuilding the 2nd floor, and then using hydraulic jacks from the 2nd floor to the roof........mmmmmm
