I have brick around the foundation around my house. Between the brick and and slab foundation there is a gap where the termites are coming up. Is this an expansion joint? And can this gap be closed off with concrete?

Pictures???? more information??...closing the gap with concrete won't stop them...call in some pest guys...you need to kill the nest, which can be done if you haven't disturbed them too much...then use bait traps externally and monitor constantly....if you have a brick veneer house, then you should have had sheilds installed initially to prevent this..see http://www.beyondpesticides.org/infoservices/pcos/serviceproviders/termimesh.htm
*filling the drain and bleeder tubes will cause mold and rot in the framing. It's there for a reason. Call an exterminator.
