We just finished construction on our home 4 months ago. Recently we found live and dead termites inside and outside of the house (mostly in the bathroom) . The appropriate treatment was completed during construction. The exterminator who did the treatment came out and couldn’t find any mud tubes. He said that it is “swarmer season” and that the termites are likely “blow ins.” He said that they are weak flyers and sometimes can get blown in through doors, windows, etc. They came back out and did some rodding around the house. Should they also be doing a trench & treat and/or put traps out? I don’t think it’s even been long enough for a true termite infestation, but I don’t really want to sit around and wait to find out. Anyone ever seen this before? Located in West Monroe, Louisiana.

The gulf coast is notable for termites. I suspect that the exterminator is correct in his/her assessment that it's swarming season. Occasionally we see the same phenomena here in the northeast. I am no expert on bugs by any means so I would rely on the advice offered by an experienced exterminator with a great track record.
Thanks for the response. Hopefully the exterminator is right and taking the right steps. I guess only time will tell.
Thanks for helping with this question!
