I’ve used 2step sikkens and like it but wondering what others like for an ext. semi-transparent stain that has good durability

IMO, if you've used Sikkens, you've already found the best product out there. Nothing I've ever used is as good-looking or tough as the Cetol 1-23 system.
I used it on the siding on my own house in 95 and you'd think it was done yesterday. It's pricey but worth it in the long run.
