*I don't know what's up either. I still get nothing but a broken link this morning. However, if I right click and save the file to my hard drive, it opens there. Let me upload it from my hard drive, and see if it shows up.

          29. Luka_ | Nov 07, 2001 06:26pm | #33

*Ok, now this is really strange. I did not do anything at all to the pic. but it shows up in my post just fine. I go back up the page, and try it again from your post, and even after it has opened once in my browser, it still comes up a dead link from your post.Maybe Mark will know why.

*Luka-Must be a server problem- all the pictures open up fine here. Bob

          31. Tom_Carter | Nov 07, 2001 07:05pm | #35

*FWIW, the first 18 I had copied to a floppy and brought them to work and posted from here. The rest were posted from the PC at home. In both cases, Netscape is the browser. I did note that some pics are posted as ".jpg" and others as ".JPG" but I don't think that matters. Must be cyber-terrorists trying to screw with the Tavern.Tom

*Gunner (he's the large bright guy) and Bear enjoy building, but they really, REALLY want me to throw the dummy over the roof so they can do their job. Happiness.

          36. TWC_III | Nov 27, 2001 04:49am | #40

*Wrapped--at last. The solo job was harder because I had to use a safety line from a padeye in the ridge on account of the mist/rain and falling leaves. Sort of like walking on ball bearings! But, thanfully, no slips, falls, injuries, or divorce.

          37. TWC_III | Nov 27, 2001 04:54am | #41

*Big shop. I'm gonna love it, once I get roofing, siding, electric, heat, dehumidification, doors, windows, tools, benches, cabinets, and a hand/eye-wash station installed. Carter's rule used to be: "Everyting takes twice as long as you planned for". My modified rule is "5 times as long" if it involves winter and roofs.

*Nice shots Tom - That will make one great shop!I'm envious.I wonder why Mike and Luka can't see these great pictures? They are jpeg's. So what's up guys?Bob

          43. Mike_Smith | Nov 27, 2001 03:24pm | #47

*IE plays some kind of game with netscape.. just another one of microsoft's endearing qualities...the original group of tom's photos displayed great.. after that...nothing.. just the little picture symbol in the top left corner of the screen..one more reason for me not to get Win-XP on my next computer....

          44. Tom_Carter | Nov 27, 2001 03:57pm | #48

*Man,I'm sorry, guys. Just opened them with Netscape at work and all was OK. First, I got scared off AOL; next, Microsoft?Tom

          45. Mike_Smith | Nov 27, 2001 08:42pm | #49

*tom... now i can open all of the pics.. this is my office computer, but it is the same server, same specs, same netscape now they all display...before ......i could open every other pic in the gallery except yours.. don't know why ..fusco knows, but he ain't tellin....and luka will sleuth it out , he always does...

          46. TWC_III | Nov 28, 2001 04:36am | #50

*Luka,Do you think it's terrorists? Or can we let our guard down and figure it's got something to do with Microsaft and AOL and Netscape?Wait a minute--I just answered my own question!I hope you can figure it out--as a stupid computer user, it's beyond me. But I'm enjoying building the shop ;o)

          47. Luka_ | Nov 28, 2001 04:47am | #51

*You got it right. So did Mike. At least, as far as I can tell. It's just a snafu, (probably deliberate), that disallows Netscape browsers to see the pics because you posted them through IE.I can individualy save the files to my computer, and then I can see them. But that is in a graphics program. Come back in here, and even after downloading and viewing the pic, it still doesn't open up for me on this netscape browser.Usualy, if you post a picture yourself, you can see that picture, even if no one else can. If you cleared the cache on the netscape machine you have, you may no longer be able to see the pictures that you posted through IE, either.Just big brother Billy doing his usual terrorist business tactics.I ain't gunna switch to IE just so I can see a few pictures in my browser window. LOLb : )

*Matt- don't hijack a member of the armed forces thread. I know you didn't mean it- Pistol Pete might find this and shove some sort of ordinance up your wahoo.Tom- I want your shop. I am too jealous to speak. Nice work and thanks for your service...

          50. TWC_III | Dec 18, 2001 04:55am | #54

*Doug,You can use it any time you want: shops are for guys that know how to appreciate their finer features. Unfortunately, it's barely weathered in--felt all over the roof, shingles on a little more than a third of it, three out of ten windows installed, the rest with stapled poly, sheathing with no hope of felt or cedar siding until spring, etc. But already it's becoming the "Clubhouse" whwre Jane and I, plus Gunner, Bear, and Buffytheterrorristkitten hang out. So much work. So little time.TC
