I have been a finish carpenter for a few decades now and have owned most if not all miter stands on the market: Dewalt’s track stand, Bosch’s gravity stand, Rousseau’s roll around flip stand, and SawHelper. All are very good designs, but not “Ultimate.” I wanted it all: easy to move and set up, continuous material support, wide material support, option for short configuration, accurate dependable stop, ability to stock material at saw. Some but not all of these features are met by the commercial options. The UMS offers all of these features and more plus one person can set it up in under 2 minutes.
