I am restoring a theater with sloped floor, ceiling and 20’tall walls. I would like some cost efficient ideas on how to stage the scaffolding to help furring of walls and sheetrocking of walls and ceiling. Also, the new ceiling joists are out of plane by 1 inch. What method would work best to get a finished ceiling on plane (dropped ceiling not and option). Which tools (laser etc..) would best fit that job?

Did one last winter. For scaffolding, we used two scissor lifts and one rolling scaffold. A rotating laser would by far be the best tool, especially when considering the size and slope of the room.

What in the world does furring and drywall have to do with restoration?
It sounds to me like you're gonna ruin the place.
