if i did it right… this should be a pic of the entry i built to my condo project… and a pic of the stamped concrete (my first) in the entry… if it looks like the 2 lock holes don’t line up… they don’t… they’ll be covered with plates anyway and the doors will have electric strikes/locks entry/access system…
just happen to have my little girls digtal camera with me today……
just looked at em… ok i don’t know how to resize… and they aren’t real clear… the stamped concrete gets more stain and a sealer still… but that small area took all of 5-7 min to stamp only used 2 matts…think i have 7 to that set… mixed white portland (still try’n to use up the 80,000lbs i have) and used mineral spirits as a release agent… then sprayed it with some acid stain…… not bad for a first time and never have’n even seen stamps used in person… i plan on stamp’n alot more concrete… think i have about 4 different patterns of stamps… should be fun

Nice looking job with the stamped work.
Good job posting and nice stamp job!
I love that you will grab anything in your warehouse to use as a release agent. I don't know anything about stamped concrete and I hope someone that knows weighs in on the mineral spirits thing.
Most of the concrete guys make a big deal out of how difficult it is to stamp concrete but I like to challenge them by telling them that concrete sets up at the same rate. You pour it, it hardens and you go home...how much more time does it take to stamp it vs trowell it? I think they are just scamming everyone.
I'm okay with them making a buck though.

the big thing with concrete stamping... is the stamps are expensive... the london cobbles that you see i got off ebay... a lost freight company had them listed as "electrical protection mats" i got the set for $9 plus $40 in shipping... for the full set ... since then i have gotten a few more sets...
someone on ebay sells an additive that lets you use mineral spirits as a release agent... my guess was that they found you could use mineral spirits and wanted to find a way to make a buck off it... my hunch was right... you don't need their "additive"
my timing wasn't perfect on place'n/use'n the matts/stamps but i wasn't far off... and i kinda liked the effect i got... anyone here who can place a slab... could stamp concrete with zero instruction... much easier to stamp than to "finish" if the concrete will take/make a nice edge with an edge tool... then it's time to stamp...
i used no pigment/dry release but i'm told you can mix it in with the mineral spirits at a rate 1/20th of what you'd use it dry and have very little wash/off clean up after... and get the same color... since i usually acid stain my stuff anyway... it was a non issue...

I like stamped concrete and we plan on doing some of that here in Austin. I doubt that I'll dabble in it though. We'll probably end up hiring all of it out. It looks like fun. Keep posting now that you are an expert! By the way, you can resize in Paint I think. FKA Blue (eyeddevil)
