I saw this the other day on a job site. The subcontractor for the electric utility was saw cutting the street and sidewalks for the new underground electrical service. Somehow he got his blade stuck and moved the machine aside to free it. Maybe this happens often, I don’t know.
It was hot, late in the day and this guy was obviously boiling over. He tried unsuccessfully for a few minutes with a bar through the arbor hole. No luck.
This is where it starts getting entertaining. I was upstairs in one of the houses and missed the guy driving his truck directly into the blade. I thought he wrapped a chain around it and was trying to yank it, but he actually hit it with the bumper – it happened so fast I couldn’t get a picture. The blade didn’t budge.
So now the blade is ruined and he has at it with the persuader. Someone standing nearby got a nice cut from one of the teeth that flew off. Again, this didn’t work.
The trim guys were packing up for the day and decided to help out. This guy studied the situation for a few minutes, hit it a few times, used the bar once and the blade popped free.
Suck-cess. In the truck goes the ruined blade. I left before he could load up a new one.

Wonder how it got stuck? Friggin' huge blade and guessing the cost put him up around hurtin' ground.
I'd have been tempted to try iceing the blade and the area around it first.
hate to be mutilating equipment.

There was at least 2 chipping guns on the site if the guy had thought to ask. He was cutting along a construction joint, so the only thing I could think of is the sidewalk settled and pinched the blade.
I found this interesting not only because of the circumstance, but just how quickly this guy melted down and proceeded to destroy the blade. Must be disposable - I always thought a blade like that was $500 or so. Here's a better look.

Freaking criminal.
be but we all know sh!t happensThe very simplicity and nakedness of man's life in the primitive ages imply this advantage, at least, that they left him still but a sojourner in nature. When he was refreshed with food and sleep, he contemplated his journey again. He dwelt, as it were, in a tent in this world, and was either threading the valleys, or crossing the plains, or climbing the mountain-tops. But lo! men have become the tools of their tools.-Thoreau's Walden
he probably never gave a thought to cost - bet it didn't cost him a thing, 'cept maybe his job!

Looks like someone was stingy on the water and the fines clogged up and cemented the blade in place....that's not a mistake, it's rustic
