taking my tile from the wet area of the bathtub and forming a tile wainscotting behind the toilet and sink. wet area will be durock but i want to transition to green sheetrock at the waiscotting location. Can I continue to use the thinset over the sheetrock or do I need to also transition to mastic when i hit the sheetrock. I guess my question is can you use thinset over drywall or does the moisture from it harm the drywalll.

Yes.
I'm not sure, but I would think that you would want to prime the drywall first so that the moisture doesn't get sucked out of the thinset too quickly.
no problemo
