Hi everyone,
I don’t have a small compressor, I am going to look at a flooring job soon where I would need one for finish nailing.
Is any one using the little one gallon thomas renegade?
It is pricey but I like the weight, and the continous duty rating ont the motor. The mfr claims it will support a framing gun for point and shoot framing. I am mainly interested in it for finish nailing.
Thanks.

webby,
We have one, nice little unit. Very quiet. Perfect for trim guns but will run a framer if you are slow.

I have a thomas and am happy with it. Fine home building or fine wood working did a shootout and the small thomas was the quietest by far. It's light as well.

Thomas makes good quality units. I wouldn's shy away from them.
I've had three small compressors over the last dozen years for trim work. The first two were cheaper, both under $120. They lasted for a while but I always had problems with them eventually. The recovery time seemed to take forever. Finally I stepped up to the Thomas and now would never buy anything other than.
I bought the 3/4 HP 2 gallon. It's only a tiny bit bigger than the 1 gal and has the extra capacity that I wanted. I think it's their best selling model. It was meant for continuous running and will take a framing gun quite easily, although it should be used primarily for finish work. It's built like a tank and the recovery time is very short. The only odd thing was that mine came without a dial regulator, something that I bought for a few bucks at Sears and slapped on. I bought the tool 5 years ago and recommend Thomas wholeheartedly.

Ok. Thanks everyone.Webby
I have the same one. And i put a pressure regulator on it as well.
One other thing I did was widen the feet or stance on one end so it wouldn't tip over."There are three kinds of men: The one that learns by reading, the few who learn by observation and the rest of them have to pee on the electric fence for themselves."Will Rogers
I've owned dozens of compressors..gas and electric. My first small compressor was a Thomas 150 and it was the best compressor I ever owned. I framed A LOT with it!
