Thoughts on Dewalt miter saw accesories?

So, the absolute best way to make a new miter saw look even better is to use a crappy one for 5 years first….
So I picked up a DW 706 12 inch saw, and love it, it is very light (I have a bad back) and was dead on accurate out of the box. It can cut huge pieces of wood, and has gobs of power.
The dust collection is horrible and it is spraying my garage with sawdust, so I will appreciate any tips that any one has, and I am wondering about how good the length stop is, or should I just keep clamping a block to the fence
The length thingy is found here:

I also wonder about the crown stops

I just hate having to spend more money after dropping so much on the saw, but they could make my life easier!

Crown stops are good if you do a lot of crown.
with all the angle calculators and tables out there, many will say just cut it flat.
But when you got to tweak an angle a half or quarter of a degree, or take a rch off the top of the angle but not the bottom......
NOTHING beats having the crown standing up against the fence so you can see exactly what the results of you cut will be BEFORE saw!!!

Has any one come up with a working dust collection solution for miter saws, I would like to set up something that is portable, but I really want to avoid sawdust clouds!!
any one try this ?

I use a Fein TurboII vac.
It has an outlet I plug my saw into, and the hose that comes with it fits the dust outlet on my saw ( DeWalt 705 ).
When I pull the trigger on the saw, the vac automatically comes on and sucks up most of the dust. It probably gets about 80-85% of the dust.
Its not perfect, but its the best I've come up with so far.
The dust collector is crap ... true. I just gave up on it. The closest thing I use on the job site is a scrap sheet of plywood set about a foot behind the saw.
I love the crown stop though. I have them spun upside down for storage on the saw itself when I don't use them (side note: I have the compound slider and the crown stops attach from the sides not the front like the regular 12" miter saw).
I also use the old school style chop saw stand and I use the heck out of the materal stops. I set the saw up al the way to the right side of the stand and work the material from the left (see attached), but that's a "me" thing.

I have better luck with a contractor bag duct taped to the dust exhaust. You have to attach a shim to the top of the exhaust first to support the bag the first couple of inches, so the bag won't block the exhaust with it's own weight. Then the bag goes right into the dumpster.

$24.99 for a made-in-Taiwan piece of plastic with no moving parts? There should be a class-action lawsuit against prices like this.
I bought on of those cyclone thingies that go on top of a 5-gal bucket from Rockler a few years ago for $20 - 25.00, and immediately returned it. Same deal as above; a single piece of molded plastic, which had no means of securely fastening it to the bucket and didn't even have adequate connectors for the not-included hoses. Where do people get the nerve to think that these are fair prices?
Sorry, didn't mean to hijack this thread...

Crown stops are great unless you're cutting huge crown.
I have never used the length stop, but I can't imagine it would really be useful.
