I’ve been getting a lot of calls in the last couple of years to resolve leaks below veneer brick setting on lintels bolted to framing. When I’ve flashed this detail, I fabricate flashings that go thru the brick and back to the sheathing so any water that penetrates the brick is brought back out to the surface. The problem with this method is I have to hang out with the mason and install the flashings as the bricks are laid or give them to the mason and let him install them. Anybody know any tricks to flashing this detail or any fixes for when this detail is flashed conventionally rather than all the way through the masonry.
