Tiger Claw Deck fastener advice

I’ll be using the Tiger Claw fastening system first time this week.
Does anyone have experience with them and if you’d be willing to share some dos and don’ts I would be most thankful.

What is the decking material?
Jim,
I did a couple of IPE decks using Tiger Claw's hardwood fasteners-- they worked great for me. The only problem I had was that the prongs on the fastener would break off if the board I was installing them on was not secure (usually due to slight bows) or if the installing block was not square to the work. (Expensive little ##%$#'s to waste)
I recieved some samples of TC's synthetic fastener and experimented with some scrap Trex decking I had. It was very easy to overdrive the adjacent board into the fastener--- so I could see where even gaps and board spacing could become a problem. Additional homemade temp. spacers would be my solution if I use TC for a synthetic deck.
As David said in previous post let everybody know what material your using and you might get more specific help-- good luck
to all
5/4 x 5 and 1/2inch IPE on acq 2x10 16" on center with 4x12 beams for rim and bearing beams
thanks

Wow you've got that deck way over built. I believe that the manufac. specs for joists are like 48" oc. I did mine 24" with the boards diagonal and its solid as a rock.

deck may be over built, however, they spec fasteners at 16" on center so whhat do you do?

Tiger claw specs at 16"OC? Huh I did not know that. Guess you can't do anything else. We used the Eb-ty system so I don't have any direct experience with the Tiger Claw system.
One of the things that helped to sell us on the 5/4" by 6" Ipe (Iron Wood brand if that matters) was that we could do 24"OC joists with diagonal decking. If we had used redwood we would of needed to do 12"OC. We liked the time and material costs it saved.

I RECENTLY USED THE TIGER CLAW SYSTEM TO INSTALL WEATHERBEST DECKING. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND USING THIS PRODUCT WITH COMPOSITE DECKING. PROBLEM I HAD WAS AROUND ANY/EVERY NOTCHED BOARD. THE COMPOSITE DECKING COULD NOT HANDLE BEING SLAMMED OVER AND OVER AS NEEDED TO USE THIS PRODUCT. SOMETIMES THE NOTCH WOULD BREAK WHILE INSTALLING THAT BOARD AND SOMETIMES THE NOTCH WOULD BREAK 3-4 BOARDS LATER DUE TO THE REPERCUSSIONS OF INSTALLING OTHER BOARDS. I UNDERSTAND YOU'RE NOT USING COMPOSITE BUT IT MAY STILL HAPPEN TO YOU AND OTHER READERS OUT THERE SHOULD BE WARNED. I DO NOT HAVE ANY GREAT RECOMENDATIONS ON HOW TO AVOID THIS PROBLEM. SORRY. GOOD LUCK W/ THE PROJECT.
