Has anyone tried Tiger Foam do-it-yourself kits at the level of using it on an addition or a small house/shop. I’m not talking about the smaller cans of foam you buy at Home Depot or buying 55-gallon drums of the stuff, something in between. Any other brands that someone could recommend? Maybe it’s cheaper/easier just to call up the Spray Foam guy in the phone book?

I researched the diy foam kits and they all seemed to be priced within a few dollars of each other but the Foam it Green had the best shipping cost.
The first time I bought 4 of the kits (two tanks each about the size of 25# propane cylinders with hoses and spray nozzles). Used it on a small addition - both walls and back side of roof sheathing. Not necessarily the neatest looking job, but worked well.
I have also bought their foam for putting in hollow wall cavities that are insulated with whatever and expands to seal it up.
I'm mostly happy with the results, but I would consider a job requiring more then 4 kits to be turned over to a pro.

So...
8 tanks, 4 guns, and hoses.... all in the trash after the job is done?
Mostly, yes
The eight tanks and one hose and nozzel set were thrown away.
We were able to just change the hoses to the next tank sets
The three other hoses w/guns and nozzles were unused and saved.
I don't feel that this diy method is the choice for all jobs, but works well for the smaller ones.
On this particular job, scheduling was going to be an issue. As soon as the framing inspection passed, within 30 minutes we were spraying. The next morning we hung the drywall.
I have used professional companies in the past and will continue to use them as appropriate.

That's
of lot of trash for not very much foam. They ought to leave off the word "green".
Probably right
You're probably right.
Actually, the "green" is the color of the cured foam. Tiger Foam is Yellow. Each brand has their own color>

OK, thanks!
I'll check out Foam it Green!
better energy store, free shipping, but they charge for the hoses....
buy extra fan nozzles
it really is scheduling not cost.
If you really have everything open and ready all at once, call the guys.
Also, the guys in my area [a few years ago] all wanted CASH [or check] up front, like we will show up in 3 weeks, maybe.
Guy that would take money when they showed up took me weeks to fix their bad job.
Tanks don't like cold, you need to get them to at least 70,
Thanks for replying!
I'll check out some options.
I'll probably end up calling in a crew!
