Is there any special glue or adhesive that is used to put the corner shelves in on a tile surround for a tub or is it just mortar that holds it in?

I use plaster of paris.
I use Liquid Nails then duct tape it for added insurance just in case it gets bumped.
I shouldn't use mortar then when setting the tiles and corners for the corners I should use Liquid Nails. Right?
I prefer the Liquid Nails because it dries faster than the mortar, but that's just my own preference. Warning - the Liquid Nails can be a little messy and doesn't like to clean up like caulk, a good tip is to put tape over the tiles as close as you can where you'll be glueing, as to protect them from getting gooped up.
I don't know how a caulk remover is going to hold up a shelf!!!http://www.liquidnails.com/ViewProductDetails.do?productId=49.
.
A-holes. Hey every group has to have one. And I have been elected to be the one. I should make that my tagline.
Done correctly, the shelf is held in place by the tile.
Just grout it in place.

Never seen it done differently than Eric's post. It's a corner shelf so it supported on about 2/3's its sides. It will hold very well when installed correctly.
