I am in need of a tile crew for commercial kitchen regrouts possibly including some minor repairs.
This work has to be performed after hours… between midnight and 8am
We are using Mapei grout, fast-curing, dark colors.
A good deal of prep work is needed beforehand for degreasing and removing unsuitable grout from previous work… typically where previous regrouts were laid over grease and food. Easy separation but a little time-consuming. An experienced crew of 2 or 3 can do one of these projects in a night…. 6-7 hours.
Call me, Pete, at either my office 216-328-1351 or my cell at 216-496-7800

Can you throw in a trip to Hawaii after a dozen jobs or so? Might make it sound a little more appealing.
Pete,
Don't take this wrong. Not intended as a jibe. More a self commentary about me.
I just always get a kick out of the GC making comments (especially the comments that are setting schedules) about how fast and easy a job is to do when looking for subs.
I always expect to read or hear about what the price should be to get it done as the follow up comment.
Always makes me want to respond with :
" Well if you know how long it gonna take, and you know how much it's worth , why not do it yourself? You clearly don't need me or my expertise"
Well, me and 2 helpers that had never done tile work did one that is bigger than the typical areas we will be doing.... it took us 8 hours.
Furthermore, as a professional handling major commercial clients... I better have a fairly good idea how long this stuff takes....lol.
I post the time it should take as a point of reference for those that might be intersted.

you paying a midnight shift premium?
Yes, I pay extra for the odd hours. Matter of fact, I'd prefer a set price for each project that is set by the sub... but hourly is ok too. I think a sub would do better though by the job, not by the hour.
So, are you going to drive up from GA now?

I did almost 12 years on midnight shift and I ain't going back. Never.
Some people seem to thrive on those hours and it'd be quite a unique crew that would work the hours and be good at it.
No, I'm not driving up from GA, gas prices would drive the overhead too high and besides, you couldn't afford me anyway. :^)
