I recently had a 6 bag mix new floor poured over my exhisting slab (My own house). This leveled the old slab (30+ yrs. old) and provided for new radiant floor heat. I’ve got #4 rebar 2 ft. on center that the 7/8 tubes are wired to over blue board and 1 perm vapor barrior. Thickness runs from 3″ to 6 1/2″on the concrete. How long should I wait before installing tile over this? I’m doing now drywall now so I’m not chomping at the bit.

Hi,
Local tile guru always tapes polyfilm over slabs ,to check for moisture. He is hesitant to lay tile over , until completely dry. Usually leaves the poly on for a week or two. Uses 2' x 2" squares in several random locations on slab. He's also quite fond of crack isolation barrier, for a little insurance. Several manufacturers make this stuff. We use Dal-tile frequently. Best of luck. By the way , 6 bag mix, good spec.

Thanks! I'll look into the crack isolation suggestion. I forgot to add before that I Speced the Micro fiber Add to th mix.
It should be ready to tile within a couple of days. Yes, an anti-fracture membrane made by Laticrete or others is a great idea if there is any chance of cracks.
