Hey guys, Need some advice before purchasing a tile saw. We do kitchens and bathrooms. My last employee had a 10″ mk saw that was great, but he left and so did the saw. He had inherited it from his father. Anyway, I’ve been looking at the 7″ one only because of price I would really hate to spend 5 to 7 hundred bucks for a saw. Size and weight is also a factor. Any suggestions? I do have the scribe and snap and a dimond wheel on my grinder, but it is hard to make nice clean 45’s. Thanks in advance for your advice.

I have a 7" MK which is great....but my advice is to buy the bigger saw if you will be doing floors,as we are in the age of huge tile and I find myself having to improvise to cut larger tile.
Luck, jw
what the heck
was I thinking?
You may find that a 7" Mk saw will be fine for most of what you do, but you really ought to look at this saw. Much heavier and durable, but less of a pain to work with.
If you want more you have more options, but this is what I went with. I tried the MK 470, hated every second and brought it back.
Have you tried the roto zip tool for making wierd cuts in teracota floor tiles. Men do not quit playing because they grow old; they grow old because they quit playing!
I ordered the Felker the other day, it should be in by Friday, I was told. I hope so because I need it on Monday. Thanks for all of your input. Thanks Cami for your link. It's funny, I saw the same saw on E-Bay, and the buy it now price was more, alot more than I am paying for it. I just hope it is all it is cracked up to be.
Hope it works out for you, Neil.

If you're considering a smaller saw, here's a recent review of the Felker TM-75.

The Felker saw looks pretty neat. I still think 36 lbs. is still alot to haul around, but I said that too, when I bought my tablesaw. I'm still curious as to what others have to say. Thanks
You've got to be kidding that 36 lbs is alot to carry around.
My Rubi score/snap cutter weighs more than that. Jeff..............Al-ways look on......the bright......side of life...........
.......whistle.....whistle.......whistle........
That looks like a great little saw Cami.
Neil, 36 lbs is nothing, that one I linked to was closer to 100 lbs.
I bought the MK 370 for $298.00 at Lowes a few weeks ago. 7" blade, cuts 12" tile, 10" tile at 45 degrees, weighs 25 pounds. I've only gotten to use it on one job, but I love it.
But I've got to say that the MK-100 Qtrmg is linking to looks like one heck of a deal. The only drawback there is 97 pounds!

Another day, another tool.
Ive got a big `ol Felker 10 ".....love it to death....weighs a ton, but its not a tool I lug on and off job daily so I dont give it much thought....once its on the job it stays there till Im done. Had a smaller one a while back, but it just couldnt handle the big tiles.

I also bought the MK 100 from tool crib . I got the stand and the complete kit of att. for 650.00. Its one heck of a nice saw for the money considering that they want a bunch of bucks for a nice smaller one. The one Cami mentioned would be nice to use to for the weight and the capacity. If you are by your self the MK100 breaks down in seconds so you are just carrying the motor and it has a nice big handle. Its about the same as a 12 inch trim saw. My only draw back is that tub thats under it . Looks like pretty light plastic. Ive just used it on one big job and its comming off my taxes this year . I hope I dont ever need another one except a small one for portability.

I got the MK 770 ,7" tile saw. it does about 90% of what I have to do. But if your going to be cutting tile larger that 12-14" Id look at the felkner . But Ive done quite a bit of tile and granite with it and it does a good job on both. Also I think you get a wider variety of blades with a 10". Just something to think about
At Darkworks cut to size made to burn......Putty isnt a option
