Just finished a backsplash in 1/2″ thick marble. Used wet saw (sliding table under fixed blaed, this was 16×16 tile) from rental center. Didn’t note HP, but it was their heavy duty model. Cut with no problem. I’d guess 2HP would be fine on 3/4″ with right blade and feed rate.
Maybe your stone supplier can provide you with a 3/4″ waste piece to test on.

The HP is sufficient. A question: is this slab or tiles? If tiles, go ahead and do the job. If slab, are you sure you want to tackle this? What about fabrication of edges? Is that called for? Do you have all the equipment for this?
Just a thought?

Im going to bid on a countertop finished in marble. The pieces are a hefty 3/4" thick. Do you think my 2hp tile saw can cut it...slowly Im sure, Ive never cut anything that substantial. Or should I go to the local gravestone folks and have them do it?? TIA
