Over the weekend the pump for my MK-660 tile saw crapped out. Kinda fell apart and functioned intermittently when we put it back together. Now, I run the pump out of a bucket of clear water, not in the sump, so there’s no tile dust and crud running through it. I went to the tile store to get a new pump and they want over $60 for a new pump. I can’t see that justified. Does anybody use something like a fish tank pump or a koi pond pump or something not specifically a “tile saw water pump” to accomplish the same purpose? And if so – how do you determine the proper flow rate? I feel like I’m gonna be ripped off for buying an MKD branded product.

Unfortunately.....$60 is about right. Cheap actually. I've seen em from $65 to $80.
You can get a "repair kit" for $25.
These pretzels, are making me thirsty.
Yep, Home Depot and Lowes have pumps in the outdoor section for ponds...cheap. Also Harbor Freight has them for $10.....that's what I have in mine
Had the same problem with mine. As the last guy mentioned, Harbor Freight is one way to go, or look online for pumps (ala "Little Giant", etc.). Just match up the GPM to make sure you're getting enough flow.
OR... you go the cheap route I did, which may or may not work for you depending on your usage. I just used a 1/4" ball valve and got various fittings that allow me to plug the saw into a garden hose. It's a little bit of a pain to have to turn the valve on every time I make cuts, but the way I use my saw, that worked.
You can get a sprinkler system valve to turn the water on and off with a switch.
