I’m about to install an all tile shower during a remodel of my bathroom. I’m aware of how to build the shower pan itself, and how to install the tile on the floor. My question is how to tile the threshold. The pan liner, of course, extends over the door threshold but is not nailed down (at least to the horizontal surface). How do I get tile to be stable on the threshold.

I typically embed a piece of wire mesh in the mud base of the shower and wrap it up and over the threshold nailing once I`m beyond the pan. A coat of thinset to give the tile a surface to adhere to.

Thanks for the tip. The thinset on top of the wire lathe sounds like a great idea. I think that's all the info I needed.
