I’m not sure but when tiling a inset bathroom window does the bullnose go on the face of the wall or the inside edge of the window frame?

I'd put the bullnose on the ledge/edge, unless the layout worked out better the other way (which is unlikely in most circumstances). Handling the corners, in particular, is easier with the bullnose on the ledge/edge. Plus it's a bit better from a moisture standpoint.
If everything worked out perfectly (integer number of tile across the window width, et al) then bullnose on the wall would look a bit better from a few feet away, but even a slight digression from "perfect" would screw things up.
tiling around window
We used 1/2" Corian (one piece material) and lined the window jambs with it, letting it stick out just to be flush with the walltiles. No groutlines to worry about, looks clean and seals well to the window
