Did a cameo appearance today at a tilt-up slab stand for another crew from the same company. They hadn’t done one so a couple of us were asked to go add a little experience to the crew. This one was a little more complex than some others I’ve seen, with differing slab heights, lots of architectural reveal strips, and some overhead power lines close by just to spice things up.
If you’ve never seen this done, it’s pretty cool to see the walls appear before your eyes. We had 11 panels stood up and braced in 4 hours. 400 ton crane with big spreader bar and pulley rigging. The crane actually drives over one slab and sets up in the middle of the building.
Nice sunny calm day for it, ridiculously mild for first day of winter. Got to 5 C (41 F). Positively balmy for Canadian winter.

Thanks Rez for the resize. How you do that?

Greetings Sly,
http://forums.taunton.com/tp-breaktime/messages?msg=24441.1
is an old thread here on Breaktime that includes a lot of data on posting pics and the Irfanview download.
Dialup patrons of the forum cannot download real large files or will take excessive time.
Two things are necessary to assist the dialups with your photos. Making sure that the set file association is set to jpgs if you are using the Irfanview system.
The other is to keep the KG picture size to preferably 50 to 75 KGs.
How'd you like to start downloading a pic only to go get a cup of coffee, heat it up, come back and find the file is only half done downloading. Just to see a pic?
Cheers

Hey, Rez! When is Taunton going to put you on the payroll?

Got the hat.;o)
In Photoshop Elements, I open the pic and then
click Image --> Resize --> Image Size
Which lets you set height and width of pic. If its in pixels, somewhere in the neighborhood of 600 x 600 is usually good. For the attached pic, I just entered 600 in the width and it auto adjusted the height to 450 to keep the pic in proportion.
Also with photoshop, when you save it you can set the 'quality' of the file. The higher the quality, the larger the file size. For BT forums, I usually shoot for about 5 (out of 12).
But then again, even if you post them as 150+k files, someone will probably come along and resize them anyway. I typically like the larger file size (even when I'm on dial-up), because it lets me see greater detail. And besides which, if you started resizing your pics Rez wouldn't have anything to complain about, because you've already filled in your profile ;)
How did that other project turn out that you were posting pics of a while back?jt8
