   respectfully,

   This software has to get better, more user friendly, able to non manually evict obvious spam (while making it possible for a legit poster to post.)

   It's been pleaded to, attempted and even had some money thrown at it.

   To date, we can imbed pictures and the button at the bottom now says "post". 

   There of course have been subtle changes made, but to a dumb carpenter-still have to think and plod and etc..............

   Any alienation to this forum comes from the above (mostly) , rather too many folders.

   I can understand your boredom if you pan each folder, some overlapping................some the same. 

   Boring = Why Bother

   If you compare this to a time 3-4 yrs ago, it is ......................... my-nute!

   And if you go back even further, you'll remember folks requesting an additional more specific folder.

   After maybe 14 yrs, you'll find it's beginning.  Quite a different time.   I'd find it quite remarkable for anything to grow into what we had b/4.  

   Still, no reason to give up.

   but I digress.

   Hi Cal,

   I'm just checking in for the first time in what I think has been a couple of years.  Sad to see what is left here, but at the same time nice to see some familiar 'faces'.

   I think that a lot of people don't know how to efficiently browse the forums here.  In the column to the left, near the top, click on "Recent posts".  This gives you a list of all the posts made since last time you were here.  If you visit daily there may be a page full, if you visit weekly maybe 3 pages (since some threads have multiple modifications).

   This is much-much better than stepping through each forum individually.

   (Some people may try pressing "Recent replies", but that is a lot slower and you don't get nearly as much on a page.)

   format of forum

   This used to be one of the first websites I looked at in the morning.  Since the change of rules and format, I hardly ever come here now.  I don't have problems with the mechanics.  I find nothing interesting for the most part in the forum. I was very outspoken in the other format, granted, but it was always some place where I went to learn as a finish carpenter.  There was always something to pick up.  Now, it's days and weeks between posts.  Too bad.  Talk about grabbing success out of the jaws of defeat...

   it is sad that BT has become not much more than a foot note.....every 6 months when I check back it's the same complaints, the same much to do about nothing and the great conversations we used to have are all but gone.   A college somewhere should use BT as a case study of how to screw up something good.

   It is what it is.

   But, you come back........

   why?

   Because you want to?   That shows at least a glimpse of caring what might be printed here.  You're help is needed and wanted.  Look at it as a fine opportunity to add some of your knowledge.

   There is of course another place that might be more appetizing.  BTC, where there are comments much the same-but different.  Seems some are getting tired of hearing themselves, or commenting on almost nothing.

   Shit happens.  Stick around and contribute and maybe just maybe-show up at this yrs fest and become a face to the name.   Aint  that far from Idaho to Newtown.
